Hugh G. Goldsmith and Associates, Inc. was founded in 1958 by Hugh G. Goldsmith when he purchased a small civil engineering company located in the historic Pioneer Square area of downtown Seattle. Goldsmith and Associates has grown from its original 5 employees to over 40 today. From the beginning, the company built its reputation as one of the finest civil engineering, land development consulting, and land surveying firms in the Pacific Northwest by incorporating multi-disciplined engineering and consulting services. Today the organization specializes in residential, recreational, industrial and commercial subdivision. In addition Goldsmith & Associates are expert in topographical, cadastral and photogrammetric surveying. From its inception, the firm has refined its skills, shaping and strengthening its abilities as a leader in the industry. By specializing in land planning, civil engineering, surveying, mapping, project management and general consulting, Goldsmith and Associates has become one of the major land development consultants and engineers in the Northwest.

In 1988, the firm relocated from downtown Seattle to Bellevue, Washington at a time when the majority of land development was occurring on the "Eastside". Here Goldsmith & Associates continued to develop a reputation for expertise in land-use consultation and permitting services. To cultivate a corporate structure that would service clients quickly and efficiently, the company has perfected a "client/team approach". This approach systematically includes the client as an integral part of the project team. This formula allows for personal attention and effective communication ensuring a project's success.
